What to Expect Daily

The Class 1 Delivery Driver position puts you behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer. Your main focus is safe and timely delivery of goods to customers. Responsibilities include loading and unloading cargo, sometimes handling weights up to 45 kilograms and navigating steps or docks in different weather conditions.

Customer service is a central part of this role. You’ll verify orders, handle returns and discrepancies, and maintain great relationships with customers at every stop. Accurate record keeping, via logs and scanning devices, is an essential part of your daily workflow.

You’ll also be responsible for equipment maintenance, routine safety checks, and occasionally collecting payment. Independent problem-solving is key, especially when you encounter unexpected issues along your route.

Shift schedules can vary. Early mornings, overtime, weekends, and holiday shifts are all part of the job reality, so flexibility is important. Safety is prioritized at all stages, following regulated work methods and food safety procedures.

All pre-trip and post-trip requirements, such as Ministry of Transportation logs and vehicle checks, are standard. This ensures compliance and safety for you and the company’s valued customers.
